27 Dec 07 Fox Studio DVD’s to include iTunes version

Looks like Apple and Fox studios have decided to go ahead with the plan to include an iTunes version on all new DVD’s. After spending several hours ripping and converting my DVD’s to play on my iPod touch (with limited success), I for one would not mind spending a couple more dollars for a DVD that also contains an iTunes version.

What do think the chances are that rentals from NetFlix or Blockbuster will have the extra feature? Can you save them to your hardrive?

Does anyone know what sizes will be included - 320 x 240 iPod or 480 x 320 iPhone/Touch or both?

15 Dec 07 Latest iPhone Apps week ending December 15th

Over the past couple of days we have seen several cool apps introduced for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

First was the announcement that an iPod Touch modder know as “eok” was able to make and receive phone calls via a Wifi connection - similar to Skype. Although not fully confirmed just yet, “eok” promises screenshots sometime in the near future.

Next was the video recording application for iPhone. It still amazes me how that was not a standard feature! Anyway the video below shows a brief demonstration.

To save the best for last would be an understatement as the latest app from Simplify Media allows you to stream your entire music library from your PC directly to your iPhone or iPod Touch providing you have a Wifi connection. You can create play-lists or simply browse your 80GB’s or so of ripped music. I can’t wait for the streaming video app!
